How CourtPlan started
The first practice I ever coached was for a 7-and-8-year-old rec team, and I spent more time the week before chasing gym time than I did planning what to teach the kids. I emailed four facilities, texted two parents, and ended up running my first session in a half-court with no out-of-bounds. The drills I had scribbled on a napkin were fine. The court was the problem.
That pattern repeated every season for the next several years: volunteer coaches fighting for slots, parents trying to book a court for their kid's pickup game with no good tool, and facility operators with empty 3-to-6 PM weekday hours they could not fill because nobody knew they were open. The same broken coordination problem on three sides of the same transaction.
CourtPlan is what I wished existed on that first night of practice. A platform where parents find open court slots and book one in 30 seconds, where coaches get an instant notification plus a ready-to-run practice plan for that session, and where facility owners fill the hours that used to sit empty. We started with the practice plan — because that is what coaches need tonight — and we are building out the court-booking layer the same way: one real problem at a time, with coaches in the loop.
